'Made in Italy' in Florence

Fabrics and fashion played a significant part in Florence, and they still do. In the Middle Ages wool and silk production caused great prosperity for the city of Florence. Hundreds of years afterwards (in 1951) the first fashion parade 'Made in Italy' took place in Florence.

Everybody knows Florentine stylists like Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, Emillio Pucci and Patrizia Pepe. Let's walk the most elegant (and most expensive) shopping street of Florence and take a look at the beautiful Ferragamo palace.

Furthermore we will look for the small workshops with their ancient crafts, like the Florentine mosaics and the typical marmered paper.

After the tour, the museum of fabrics in the Palazzo Pitti, the Gucci Museum and/or the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum can be visited.
